I heart Cue

When it comes to corporate dressing I simply cannot go past Cue. You know when you find a brand that fits your body shape well, always makes you feel amazing and is your fail proof fashion saviour?? Well this is what Cue symbolises for me.

And they have fabulous sales! I picked up this gorgeous pink sherbert skirt for 75% off (thank you!).

I feel as though Cue has recently changed their agenda, and has embraced colours and textures like never before. They used to be all about the black and grey, with a side of navy blue. But now look at all of the exciting colors and cuts you can find! These are a few of my favourites.

Love it.

Plums plums plums

So I am a bit obsessed with my garden right now. This is my first time living out of home and actually having a garden of my own. Knowing that it is my garden to do with as I please, I have been inspired to really get my green thumbs dirty.

However, having such a rowdy pup, our garden has taken many hits. Finally after moving pots, replacing endless plants and attempting (and failing) screening off our ‘special’ trees, A has put up fencing to protect our budding green life. It does look kind of silly, but the plants are loving living in peace without the threat of cyclone T coming through at any moment.

I do like the idea of an edible garden, so we have several pots with an array of herbs, as well as lemon, lime, orange, mango and olive trees. My most recent addition has been two plums trees.

Originally I just bought one until neighbour J informed me that plums need a ‘friend’ to ensure pollination. As she is the resident plum expert (check out her plums below), off I trekked, back to the garden shop to get my plum a buddy.

We have had a lot of rain lately and my plums have just started to bloom.

The experts say it takes three to five years for your first proper fruit harvest...I can’t even wait for my tea to cool slightly before I drink it! It’s going to be a long wait for my plums.

What have you got growing in your garden? Do you have any tips for a first time gardener?

PS – Check out the new screen door we got installed yesterday. It was my birthday present from A. How times have changed!

Hump (or should I say bump) day

So like many girls I was glued to the screen on Monday night to check out the Brownlow Red Carpet - and this year did not disappoint.

There are always the show stoppers and the "look at me, look at me" WAGS's trying out outshine each other - AND there is always Brynne (WTF!?!) - but today I wanted to highlight my two favourite looks for the evening.

First, pregnant Geelong WAG Renee Costa looked absolutely stunning in white. This dress was a gutsy moved which definitely paid off for this gorgeous Mum-to-be.

However my absolute favourite would have to be Richmond WAG Brooke Kennedy in this stunning turquoise number by Billi Keato. Simple elegance.

And maybe we can just leave Brynne to wonder what the hell went on here....

Happy hump day!

T Dog Tuesday

Hello friends,

I have had a great week, swimming, running and playing at the park. I have had to bark at a few people on the footpath outside my house too - don't want them thinking I'm not a tough guy. I have also been eating a lot. I love to chomp, chew, gnaw and destroy many things. Just take a look.

My very first bone - allowed.
The plants in the garden - not allowed, but I always deny any involvement.
BBQ chips at the beach - only allowed if Mum isn't looking.
I F#$king love Dim Sims! - not allowed but total score if I nabbed one.
Tennis balls - my fave, and allowed!
Mum's sunglasses - definitely NOT allowed.
The Cesar Millan book my parents bought to train me - not allowed, but total win on my behalf!
Bones again - allowed (and how handsome do I look here ladies!?!)
Well there you have it folks. I have eaten much much more in my short life and have cost my parents a bit of cashola. But eh, it was wicked fun doing it!

See you next time!

Sunday in the sunshine

I love weekends.

Who doesn't really. Today was a glorious Sunday spent in the sunshine, and here is a snippet of what I got up to.

I met friend J for a power walk around the East Perth bridges this morning, followed by a yummy breakfast at the Royal. The weather was just gorgeous and the spring flowers were all in bloom.

What a perfect start to the day. As the temperature rises, one of the highlights for T is getting out his swimming pool. After a walk and play in the park, here he is cooling off.

Our local community garden was having an open day, and as this is of interest to me professionally, I thought I would check it out. You can find their website here. It was a lovely garden with a mixture of produce and seems to have created a real hub in the Victoria Park community.

Finally A's sister K and her three children N (who turned 7 today - Happy Birthday N!), A and J came over for cake. Yum. We played soccer in our garden which has just started to come alive again after winter. Check out the new growth on my Jasmine vine.

How is your garden looking? With all this rain it seems weird to think that soon I will have to consciously remember to water the garden every couple of days.

I hope you have a lovely Sunday night.

Don't forget about spring.

As the temperature rises and the days get longer, it can be easy to forget the dreary winter rain and wish the time away until summer is upon us. I do love summer (in Perth how could you not!) but I think it's important to stop and smell the roses (literally) and relish in this wonderful time of year.

Here are my favourite things about spring...

Spring Racing Carnival
The flowers at my grandparents property in Dunsborough
SPRING IN THE VALLEY!
A cider in the sun
Picnics in the park
Taking the dogs to the beach (this is Tess my family dog)
Barefoot bowling!
It's a nice time of year to be outdoors without the risk of instant sunburn and dehydration. I am looking forward to balmy evenings, Sunday afternoon beers and spending endless hours at the beaches down south this summer, but right now I am happy enjoying this beautiful springtime.
When is your favourite time of year?

Bright pants are all the rage!

I love colour.

Don't get me wrong, I have a HEAP of black/grey/neutrals hanging in my wardrobe but I do love to make a statement with bright colours, especially pants. Today I am wearing these Bluejuice Piper Button Pants (which I cheekily picked up in Adelaide) but in emerald green - sorry I couldn't locate a picture, but I know you can all use your imagination. You can buy these ones at one of my favourite online stores, The Iconic.

I also own these bold red pants from Country Road, which I absolutely love.

I must admit when I first purchased these I was a little hestitant, but after a few positive comments from my colleagues I now rock them on a regular basis. A told me they remind him of Ronald McDonald's hair - so supportive A!

Finally, there is a Saba outlet store in Subiaco, and on one fine day on the way to Subiaco oval, I stopped in a grabbed these for $30! Bargain!

But the question is, how far do you go? I am embracing the neon trend with bright nails, accessories and tops. But pants?!? Hmmm, I wish I had the courage (and the arse) to wear these pants from LilyPily.

Don't they make your eyes hurt? But so cool!

How are your embracing colour as we head into summer?

Happy Friday.

Yes, at 29 I can still put stickers on my walls

As A and I plan to do extreme renovations to our humble abode in the near future we haven't done a lot of major decorating to dress up our place. Before we moved in we painted the all the rooms white to freshen everything up, and have also put in new white wooden blinds in the windows at the front of the house. A is a tight arse (they say opposites attract), so I have been looking for low cost ways to jazz things up to get us through the next year and a bit, in style.

I have always been interested in wall decals, and after a bit of searching I stumbled across Wordans online. I thought I would just buy a couple of different decals and see where they would fit in our house. These are the ones I went for:

But there are heaps more on the Wordans website. How cool is this chandelier?

Or these utensils for the kitchen?

There are some quirkier ones that might not suit everyone's taste. Would this one freak you out?

The decals took about two weeks to arrive from Canada. They weren't overly pricey, were easy to put up (sister K was a great help with the tree) and look great. Although I don't think they will make it into our 'post renovated' home, but they are fun for now.

What cheap ideas do you have for decorating?

Have fun sticking.
