Like to know it

A and I are off to a wedding in Hawaii in March (hella yes!) and of course I have started to think about what I will wear. You may laugh, but I am not sure how my fashion choices will go once the tornado that is #babybuchanan2014 hits and I can't tell shit from chocolate smeared across my face!

I am an avid Instagrammer and follow a bunch of unnecessary people as most of us do. However I do love to browse new fashion ideas and it is here that I found some inspiration for a suitable wedding outfit.

Like to Know It is a fabulous website where you can shop your favourite Instagrams. Provided the person you are following logs their outfit with the website, you simply click on the unique link and BOOM! You can easily find out where they bought the items and are only a couple of clicks away from owning that very look.

So this is what I did when I spotted this fabulous skirt on model and business woman Nikki Phillips.

So using Like to Know It, I was able to discover that not only was this utterly fabulous mint skirt utterly affordable, it was on sale (!!!) and from ASOS!

So before my credit card could decline, this little beauty was on it's way down under!

I have a bunch of tops which I could work with for this ensemble, so I was really only keen to lock in a new pair of heels (gasp! OK more like kitten heels) for the big day. Being a sucker for a discount voucher, Mimco were lucky when they sent me one for my birthday so I decided to peruse their collection to see what treasure I could find. And here we are!
As I already have a couple of pairs of black heels, I was drawn to these gems, the Romantico Kitten Heel in 'foundation'. They are super comfy and not too hard to walk in with my preggo lack of balance and tall girl lack of experience.

So I am quite pleased with my accomplishments and now the only task is to get my waist back in time to ensure that I can be a total MILF at the wedding!

And we're back in business!

Hello everyone!

I hope you have all been travelling well over the past four months. Yes, I have been on hiatus with many significant changes occurring. Here is what has been happening in my world:

1. A and I travelled through Canada and Europe, visiting old friends, making new friends, seeing some amazing sights and sampling some amazing cuisines. Here are some snaps of my favourite places.

2. I cut off my hair in Nice. I was feeling a bit toxic after over indulging in London/Paris/Barcelona, and wanted to feel more sophisticated, so chop chop chop!

3. I changed jobs and am loving it!

4. I turned 30! Wow, that came outta nowhere!

5. I gained a pooch. Introducing Stella, a 7 year old rescue cocker spaniel.

6. And of course, I having been spending a heap of time with my amazing friends!

Looking forward to getting the creative juices flowing again and keeping you all updated!

Not goodbye, just see you soon xx

Today is my very last day in my current job. I have worked at this organisation for just over 15 months and although I am more than ready to move on, there are many things that I will miss. Take this lovely lady above, and her beautiful pooch Ella.

M and I hit it off from day one. You know when you meet someone and they just 'get' you.

M and I have laughed and laughed (we both share a sick, witty, whacked out sense of humour); we have consoled each other when we have had many a meltdown (too frequent me thinks!); spent hours chatting away about completely irrelevant crap; and really forged a great bond.

Trust me, when you find a friend like her you never let go.

It's not goodbye for us, it's the start of a lifelong friendship.

I feel so lucky.

Amazing wines!

A couple of weekends ago, A, sister K and friends K and C headed down for a long weekend of wine tasting, beaching (way too cold!), shopping and general laziness.

K squared and I managed to get through quite a list of watering holes in the four days, with these being some of the highlights. We visited Aravina Estate, Wills Domain, Ashbrook Estate, and Fermoy Estate Wines. Amazing!

I even manged to collect a wedding reception package from Eagle Bay Brewery (hint hint A).

I must admit that by the end I felt particularly toxic and full of preservatives, but boy was it a great weekend!

One of my favourite parts of the world.

Too much to do!

Sorry for the lack of blog action peeps - work and life have been insane.

This is where I would rather be right now. Hope this can tide you over until I get some time up my sleeve to write something decent.

Away with the Fam...

I have taken today off work and I am off like a bride's nightie. We are headed down to my favourite place ever!

Sister E, Big O and Baby O have been in Melbourne for a week so it will be great to have some family time again before they head back to Canadia in mid March.

I hope you all have a great long weekend!

Dreaming of a holiday...

Lately I have been feeling a bit flat. Not about anything in particular as I know I have wonderful friends, a great family and a job that I like. But I have been dreaming of a holiday to have a goal, something to look forward to.

As I have never been to Europe, I mentioned to A that this is where I would like to go for my 30th (next year...eeek!). Being A, he said 'Yeah, yeah', but nothing eventuated. Then suddenly he mentioned to my Dad that he wanted to go around the world next year - what a great idea A! So the question is, where do we go? A has been before and said I could choose wherever I wanted. I am thinking four weeks is the rough timeframe. Here is what I have been dreaming of.

Santorini

The rest of the Greek Islands

Paris

Vineyards in France

New York of course!
Having free reign may be a dream, but is also so hard as I know I can't see everything in four weeks. I'll keep you updated as I plan - feel free to flick me any suggestions!

I heart Radelaide

I know right?!?

Well let me just give you some context before you start thinking that this girl needs to get out more! Last Sunday A called me and suggested we fly to Adelaide to watch our favourite football team play in their semi final. Not being one to EVER want to miss out on ANYTHING, I jumped at the opportunity.

Flights purchased with Frequent Flyers, accommodation sorted with family friends, tickets secured and dog sitting organised and we were ready to go. As A works away he has racked up some serious miles so we were able to access the Qantas Club. Being the dork that I am, I think I was more excited about the prospect of consuming endless wine and food for free whilst waiting for our flights! Here is a sample of what I got up to on the journey.

I must admit I was taken with the beauty of the historical houses in the suburb of Parkside in which our friends live. To me, old houses have such character and have so many stories to tell. I was drooling just thinking about how I would like to change our house to look like one of these.

Aren't they amazing! The majority of the housing in the area dates back to the late 1800's, and it is gorgeous. A and I love the classic stone work, bullnose verandas and simple grand elegance that these houses command.

Being in Adelaide for a few days, we managed to pop down to McLaren Vale, just south of the city. We took the scenic route, picked up a few souvenirs and tasty delights along the way, ending with lunch at Leconfield Winery. It was delish!

After dinner at the local incon, The Earl of Leicester, we trekked out to AAMI stadium with the hope of our team smashing the opposition. Unfortunately we were not the best team on the night and were defeated. Here we are pre-match, hoping that 'Grinners would be Winners!'

But all was not lost. We spent our last day wandering through the CBD. We hit the Adelaide Central Market (absolutely a not-to-miss highlight) and then Rundle Street East, the more on trend, quirkier older sister of Rundle Mall.

All in all, it was a great couple of days in the City of Churches (even though we didn't see any). And you guessed it, I was excited to hit the Qantas Club one last time on the way home!
