My older sister E lives in Montreal with her husband O. On Thursday they welcomed my first nephew into the world.

Love is in the Air

On Saturday, A and I were privileged to be a part of the wedding celebrations of two dear friends. The ceremony and reception were held at the Royal Perth Yacht Club on the Swan River in Crawley.

 

Simply stunning.

 

Here are A and I in action (finally got to rock the Zimmermann!)

 

The bride looked amazing. I got so caught up in the moment that I wasn't able to get very good shots, so I am looking foward to seeing the professional photos soon.

The reception started at sunset and was divine.

And best of all...the photo booth! Such a great idea (that I will be stealing).

Plasticine Therapy

As part of Staff Wellbeing Month at work, we participated in Plasticine Therapy, as it is supposed to help calm and destress.

The theme was 'A walk in the park'.

My team did a warped version of 'When Willy met Alice'.

I think we spent most of the time high on sugar.

Introducing Wally

A's family pet is a grey and pink galah named Wally. I have never had a pet bird before - personally I thought they were a bit boring and you couldn't really do much with them (much like a gold fish). This all changed when I met Wally B Buchanan (that's 'B' for Bird).

 

Wally runs his house. He eats like a human out of a baby plate, and his favourite foods are mashed potato (with heaps of butter) and chocolate. If you have something he wants, he will gently put his claw on your arm, just to let you know he is there. But don't try and ignore him - this can result in deep scratches and even a bite or two!

 

 

Wally is absolutely obsessed with A's little sister S. He follows her around the house like a love sick puppy. A's family home is two storey, so you can imgaine how hard he has to work going up and down a steep flight of stairs. When someone knocks on the door or the phone rings he runs around the house yelling, 'Hello? Hello?'

 

He certainly is NOT a boring pet! You just need to watch your shoes and bags - he loves a nibble.

Donna Hay Asparagus Tart

A couple of weeks ago school friend K offered to host Supper Club before we went out on the town. Her and friend J are amazing cooks (I think I missed that gene) and I am constantly inspired by what they serve.

One of the gorgeous menu items on offer was Donna Hay's Asparagus Tart. K changed the ingredients slightly and it was delicious! I was so inspired that I hit the supermarket the next day and whipped one up.

 

Clearly I am not a food stylist, but it was delicious just the same.

Loving Lorna

I have been trying to ramp up the exercise as part of the Michelle Bridges program, and one thing that really motivates me is great workout gear.

Lorna Jane is known for her inspirational quotes smacked all over her clothing, which is a bit much for me, but having delved a little deeper, I have found some really great stuff.

How fun and bright! Enough to make you want to get up at 5am for a run!

Snazzy Nails

Oh gosh I have been absent! Sorry team!

 

Toby has been in the wars and had to have surgery (damn grass seeds and unidentified lumps), but he is on the mend.

 

So onto today's post....nails!

 

OPI has this wicked online nail studio, where you can try various colous on the 'hand model' to see what they look like against various skin tones before you buy! Endless fun!

 

 

Normally I am into bright colours, but right now I am loving soft pastels and nudes. Check out the New York City Ballet collection by OPI.

Spring in the Valley - Finally recovered!

Spring in the Valley was so much fun! I did consume maybe a bit too much, an my hangover kicked in at about 6pm, but it was well worth it!
